Playing with Spellbinders Cross dies

Hello Peeps,

It's me again! Slowly getting back into it and had another little play and this is today's card.

As per usual it is an 8 x 8 with a gold base mat onto the front. I used two colours of pearlescent pink card and a white pearlescent too. I used the spellbinder cross collection 1 set of dies and cut all the crosses out.

I wanted pink on the top so cut the smallest pink, the next size white, the next gold and the biggest one in the same colour as the top one and layered them up using collall glue and added a small pink gem in the middle of the top cross. I then used my large rectangles to cut the mats to mount it on and then layered and glued the gold and pink larger mats and arranged the smaller rectangle mats in the centre and then glued the cross on top.

With the largest pink base mat, I cut it to fit and then cut 4 corners which came from the Spellbinders Heartfelt Creations perfect petals set and hung some of the loops on the edge of the die cuts to position the die cut onto the pink base and then glued behind to secure. I glued this onto the card and then added the other layers I had already glued.

These instructions read as a little unclear but I have tried several ways to write this blog and this explanation seems the clearest... apologies if it is still as clear as mud. This design was inspired by a design I found on the web and I have been unable to find it again since if I do after I post I will add it in comments sincere apologies for not namechecking in this main post.

I really liked the simplicity of this card and it does need a little sentiment and could be for baptism/christening, holy communion or holy confirmation and at some point I will do a blue version. With the cross collection 2 imminent from spellbinders I may copy this design with the new ones...... so excited about the new things launched at CHA!

Anyway until next time.

Take care

CJx
