LOTV baby stamp coloured with spectrum noir pens
Hello blogging peeps, another quick post with a gorgeous stamp from Lili of the Valley for the the Crafty Bloggers Network challenge pink, purple and green. http://craftybloggersnetwork.blogspot.com/
I used an 8x8 blank, and matted pink coredinations onto gold mirri and stuck to card as the base layers. I then took some purple coredinations and matted onto gold again as the middle of the card. I stamped the lovely stamp with memento ink and coloured with the spectrum noir pens and then cut out using a spellbinders grandnestie die. I then cut a green coredination layer and then a gold mirri in the same shape and layered them up and stuck to my middle purple layer which had not been glued to the base yet.
I cut a thin strip of the same green coredinations and glued it to my purple layer and then glued some pink polka dot ribbon round it and then added a bow near the top of the card which I made with the glitter girls bow maker and glued them down with some clear hatpins and a pearl heart hatpin which I had coloured using the speccies. I glued the purple middle to the base of the card hiding all the back where the ribbon was glued. I stamped the greeting which came with the stamp and cut it out using a spellbinder circle and then cut the next size from a purple polka dot paper and layered them up before glueing to the card.
To be honest although I really do like this card I think it would have been better with the first pink layer having a pattern of some kind either the matching polka dots or even just lines would have made this stand out a little more. Also next time I make something like this I will use slightly brighter coloured card.... I think the pink, green and purple although they match perfectly are slightly dull/muddy and for a new baby perhaps cleaner/brighter colours would be a better choice. But it still is a pretty card and I love this stamp will definately be using it again.
Until next time
