Foldback Hunkydory Xmas card

So I got asked to work today which is normally a day off and sometimes you just have to think about the money :( which is why it is a quick card today. Was umming and ahhhing putting this one today and I just wasn't sure if the things I had collected would go together probably as this is a post-work craft rather than my usual pre-work ones and I am a little more tired than usual.

I used a foldback card design for this one as I have'nt done one for a while... the background paper is from the Hunkydory xmas papers, the side panel is from the same xmas range but a sensational printed/foiled card set and then of course the topper, greeting and border is from the xmas topper set. This card is destined for one of my work colleagues if I am still there at xmas lol

Anyway that's it for now

Take care

Giordano Puppies N Kittens Joanna Sheen card

Ok so I said I was off to make another card and this one is from the Joanna Sheen Giordano Puppies n Kittens cd, which if you lurve cute puppies n kittens this one is for you.... too many lovely images on there and I sadly have not done it justice on this card as the matting and layering is a little off I think. Still very pretty ... but would have been better if I had used an oval nestie for the puppy image and one layer of the scallops I think. Most of the card is coredination in various shades of green and a piece of red foil card right at the back and one layer of dotty embossed card to tone against the green. A small white puppy embellie, a greeting and a bow later and what would have been a very lovely card had the matting been right is born.

Had this been better I would have entered into the my time to craft challenge but will have a rethink and try again another time after all there are plenty of cute dogs to choose from on this cd.

Better get ready for work :(

Another Humphrey Card

Ok so really this is yesterdays card but I hadn't taken into consideration how long the glossy accents take to dry lol. Another image from Humphrey cd as I decided to have a go at the crafters companion monthly challenge one for the boys. This is another of my favourite images lol, I will probably put some more on here soon there is a distinct lack of girly humphrey cards.

The border around the picture is matted/layered with coredinations and then a piece of the glitter coredinations punched using a martha stewart punch. The Dad stamp is a papermania one and then glossied up with the pain in the bum waiting to dry glossy accents. It was coloured using spectrum pens. The same coredination coloured card was embossed using a papermania heart folder and sanded and makes up the far background. A few gem hearts added in the corner for good measure and bing badda bing - a dad card that is still bright but fairly manly respectable.

Will try and make another card before work today so there may be another post in a while.

Until next time take care Cjx

Tatty teddy girlie xmas card

So I know I was going to do some stamping but I just wanted to try out one of the xmas tatty ted images and have a play today.

Well the card is finished but a little boring, I think the main reason I am not so happy with it is because I had a much better idea half way through and had already cut the beautiful pink glitter silk coredination card and needed a bigger piece than I had to do what I wanted to do with my spellbinder dies. Its still a pretty card though but needs some kind of embellie near the greeting but haven't got anything that looked good mainly because the card is xmas and pink rather than red or green.

The decoupage doesn't really show on the photo but this little guy has 3 layers and was a dream to cut out.

Have been looking at other blogs, still following the learning process but have seen a lot of blogs offer blog candy and so am sorting something out will post on here when its ready :D

Better get ready for work though now :(

Me to You Tatty Teddy Card

So I knew straight away I needed this tatty teddy cd, and the justification I used for this is that it is one of those timeless designs and so I will be able to use it endlessly. As usual with docrafts it is so easy to use and I had printed out the images and paper I wanted to use within minutes. The images print out beautifully onto the tesco photo paper I use and the super smooth from Create and craft although I only ever use double sided tape on super smooth now. I saw a similar card shape on another blog but couldn't find my way back to see if there was a template so just did my own version. Perfect for when you have more images you want to use than cards to send.

But this was not a quick card to make, luckily for me I have been up since 7 and crafting shortly after.... at some point would like to do a larger version of this card perhaps with a few stamps that co-ordinate. Oh and excitement for me today got my new speccie pens can't wait to play so might be something stamped tomorrow or Friday depending on how long it takes me lol.

For now work is calling...damn this work lark really cuts into my crafting time lol

Gorjuss Stamp with torn Coredinations paper

So I had already decided on purple and green as a colour guide and coloured her last night. Used a spellbinders die and cut her out using the 'out of the box' technique where you cut around the image to allow the die to be put behind and so the image pops out. The dotty background is from a die cuts with a view 12 x 12 pad the baby one I think and then the torn borders added from coredination paper. A ribbon with 3 knots just for a bit of decoration to it and then the torn circles with a peel off border. Did try stamping the sentiment on spare card but thought it looked a bit blobby so went with the peel off which was already green.

But the working week starts again now for me so quicker cards will probably be posted until the weekend.

Another Sarah Kay Stamped Card (promarker colouring)

Ok so there may seem like a bit of a theme going with the Sarah Kay but to be honest, I may have mentioned before, when I was a child (many moons ago) these designs were everywhere and so I feel drawn to them and have enjoyed experimenting with my promarkers to colour them too.

Have used a little coredinations and embossed and sanded for the frame which was then cut using a spellbinder die. The floral paper I have had for a while and just matted/layered on to gold or blue pearlised paper. Added some card candi for a bit of decoration on the corner and at some point a sentiment will be added.

Was very pleased with the little scribbles I did to make it look like she was grounded with a promarker fineliner and the little blades of grass just look good and I found it hard to convince a friend that it wasn't the stamp lol.

So am off now to stamp and colour a gorjuss stamp and would like to do a little tearing with the card for it to go on, also had an idea for a halloweeny card but need to check my stamps to find the right one. Am really enjoying stamping at the moment, but probably will be back to quicker cards until my day off on Sunday now.

Until then take care Cj x

Humphrey drawer easel card

Ok so I had a little time yesterday to decorate this drawer I had made a few weeks ago, had no template just used my own measurements and hoped for the best, It seemed a little flimsy at first despite using a decent weight card (300gsm) but I thought once it was decorated with layers it would be stronger and happily it was. The beautiful little boy in the picture is my newest 2nd cousin Alfie John who we met yesterday and is the most gorgeous little man you could hope to meet... but then I'm biased he's family lol.

Anyway decorated this with coredinations and embossed the panels for the sides with a little sanding which I am very pleased with and 2 pearly brads for the drawer handles. The top has a little Humprey for decoration and the paper for the base of the card was from the Humphrey CD.

Will try to be a little more adventurous with the next drawer set I do and see if I can make a double drawer.

Anyway hope to be stamping in a bit until then take care x

Another Quick Hunkydory card

Ok so its another work day so just time for a quick card before I go off to earn some pennies. Another selection from the new Hunkydory xmas kit, this time just a topper and sentiment and a piece of the paper for the base. The dotty xmas colour paper came from a large 12 x 12 xmas pad I had from ages ago and the paper poinsettia is from a hotp stencil I have also had for a long time but not used, Am quite happy with the effect and would say if you like your t-bag folding this template would be very good for you.

No post tomorrow even though its my day off as there is a family thing on but will be stamping on Monday :D ....can't wait.

Anyway better scoot

New Hunkydory Xmas kit

Ok so a very quick blog update with a very quick card using the new xmas Hunkydory kit exclusive to Create and Craft at the moment.

Too many cute images to name in this kit so plumped for this pair of penguins and decoupaged, my only complaint about this kit is that the papers are double sided so I 'lost' two pages by decoupaging. Which wouldn't be so bad if the paper on the other side was naff but I really liked both sides :( still you can't have everything lol

Have not added a sentiment yet as I don't know who is getting this quickie yet, but that will go opposite bow corner I think. A little glossy accent added to beak, eyes and lantern and a sakura clear glitter pen to snowflakes and snow for a bit of bling.

All in all for a quick a4 card am quite pleased with it.

Pippins Scrapbook page

Ok so I mentioned I was off to start a page which I did, a long overdue page of how I found Pippin, he is now 4! and I have had the papers since then. If I could do this again I would add a little mustard yellow tint to the adverts or perhaps a light blue so they would stand out a little more but overall am happy with this page :)

One for his album lol oh and by the way Pippin is the one in the front climbing up my knee a few weeks old and so brave, or so we thought, originally he was going to be called Kiyoshi (yoshi) for short which is Brave Warrior in Japanese after this first visit with him at a few weeks old. However when he came home it was a whole different matter and Kiyoshi did'nt fit. We settled for Pippin after the naughty dog in the children's programme come outside as we were constantly saying 'oh Pippin!' He still is a mighty coward and is scared of sellotape and loud noises but he is a lovable little boy all the same :)

Stamping practice :/O

Ok so I said I was off to stamp and stamp I did, had a lovely Sarah Kay stamp the one in the card above and spent a few hours promarker colouring 3 different layers on it and then assembled it.... It looked lovely. Went off to make tea and came back to the glue coming through the paper, was devastated! Not quite sure why it did that as I have used pinflair glue gel before and regularly use the super smooth paper from Create and Craft. Might be because I have had this paper a while and it may be drier than usual but I don't know for sure.

Anyway prepared the background for the card with some pink and yellow Cordinations that I got from Crafters Companion and distressed it. Absolutely loved the effect! Stamped image again today and placed it on a background this time and added a paper flower that I made using the mothers day bouquet cricut cartridge (the flower one there seems to be two) and the paper bouquet book from Joanna Sheen. This card does need a sentiment but I will add that later when I decide where its going!

Going to try and do a little scrapping this afternoon will post when its done :)

take care x

2nd Humphrey card

Ok so I think this one is more masculine but needs something on the side, decoupage doesn't show so well in this photo because of the light now. Ha gave this card a bit of bling round the edges but they are blue!

Off to stamp for now might post again later x

Humphreys Corner Yay! big thumbs up from me

So I invested in a Humphreys corner cd, had wanted this when it was released the pictures are adorable but couldn't afford it at the time so its sat on my long wish list until now. What a wow cd... lots to do and too many cute images! Was always put off crafter companion cd in the past as I like to make big cards but since I found the images can be taken into craft artist and made to any size well I am one happy bunny :)

Chose this one in the end as I remember doing something similar when I was a child all them years ago lol was trying to make a more masculine card so not quite sure where the flowers came from but the card needed something.

Will try to make the next humphrey more manly strictly no flowers or ribbon oh and I got some cool Sarah Kay stamps to play with too that are crying out for a card.
