Heartfelt Creations posy patch die/stamp and hydrangea stamp card

Hello blogging peeps today's card is an entry to the Crafty Bloggers Network Challenge All the twos. http://www.craftybloggersnetwork.blogspot.com/

As you can see I have used the Heartfelt Creations Hydrangea stamp and stamped two but decoupaged one, there are also two backings, 2 different colour gems (2 of each) and two ribbons so I am hoping I fulfilled the objective of the challenge lol.

You may also be surprised to see an A5 size card... yes I did stray from my beloved 8x8 lol but don't worry I will probably be back with them very soon.

For this card I cut a piece of silver mirri to size and used this to work on as I knew I was using ribbon and wanted to hide it behind the mirri. I had two pieces of whitewash coredinations one with a purple core, one with a pink and embossed them with the same script embossing folder and sanded them back. I cut them to size and stuck them down to the mirri. I flung my ribbons here and there looking for one I liked and decided on this sage green gingham (yeehaaaar for those who watch c&C regularly ;) lol) and I used it to cover the edges of the coredinations and glued to the back of the mirri. I then stuck it down to my base card.

I stamped the hydrangea stamp in black onto some masking paper and cut a mask. I then stamped it again onto the neenah card with my trusty gluepad and dusted green mica on the leaves and intermittant purple, blue and pink over the image.... this was a complete waste of mica I could have just dusted the edges. I then put the mask over it and stamped another one 'behind' and repeated with the mica. I then cut this out with an oval spellbinders and set aside. I then stamped another hydrangea and repeated the mica decoration and cut it out. Using the smallest of the posy patch stamps I stamped a lot of flowers and then mica'd them. I then cut them using the posy die which took some time I can tell you.... wow quite a bit of time actually. I then shaped them and using the already stamped images to guide which flowers were on the bottom layer I glued them to the cut out hydrangea. Well I liked it but I thought it needed a few more so I stamped some more...... and cut some more..... then shaped and glued them into place.

Oh I thought to myself it just needs the odd one here and there so I stamped...cut....shaped... and stuck to my hydrangea to cut a long story short (too late I hear you cry lol) I went back and cut some more two more times after this.. and I still think I could add a couple here and there. Anyway back to the card.... I allowed it to dry some and then shaped the leaves and stem a little before glueing on top of the one in the front on my topper. I then matted and layered the topper twice more with spellbinders and glued centrally to my card. I added two bows with the sage gingham (yeeehaaar) and added some gems in a pale green and in a purpley colour (I had to colour the green ones with a purple spectrum noir) and all this card needs is a sentiment... which it may not need as I think I will keep it on my shelf a while.

All in all I like this card. I love hydrangea's but always have wanted a blue one.. where I used to live there was a pink one and I tried using the powder to change the soil so it would turn the flowers blue but all I got was these mixed flower colours which is why I used the pink and purple on my card. I can't think of another quickish way to mix the colours on one stamped flower other than the glue and mica. Anyway with the hydrangea stamp comes a cherry blossom which the smallest posy is again used for the flowers.... I have an old japanese'y kit from c&c yonks ago somewhere so I might try and liven it up with this stamp.

Anyway for now thats all don't forget to pop over to the crafty bloggers network blog if you get chance and there is a facebook group too if you would like. Oh and if you like the heartfelt creations stamps and dies check out the Heartfelt Creations blog they make some pretty amazing cards and things and show new products too.... very inspiring!  http://heartfeltcreations.us/blog/

Take care
