Magnolia's Edwin foldback card

Hello blogging peeps another quick post from me as I am still so tired from the NEC Hobbycrafts show yesterday. Had a wonderful time apart from being generally pushed, run over and crashed into by other enthusiastic crafters and saw lots of people from the crafting world that are usually only on the tv and spent too much money but came away tired and happy with a few new toys to play with and a long list of other things I would like so I will have to save for next march and try to get there on the first day next time before things sell out.

Anyway today's card has already been delivered to my nephew, Anfield, who is 8 today bless him. I used a magnolia stamp with Edwin and his football which I coloured with my spectrum pens. I matted him onto a circle of grey and then black and placed him in the middle of a lovely lace die I bought at the NEC that I cut in red foil . The card was an 8 x 8 with the front being folded in half to make the fold back section of the card. The 'inside' of the card was covered with a DCWV paper from stash. I stuck a gold mirri panel on the front fold back half and then some black magic coredinations which I had used some letters from the cuttlebug all in one embossing system to spell out his name with and sanded back before adding to the card.

The topper was added to the top of the card so it was central on the finished card when closed. I then added a rosette which I made into a badge by adding a brooch back to it. I used my craft artist to put his name on and that it was his birthday in a circle before cutting it out and layering it on some white card to give it stability and sticking it to the front of the rosette. I attached the rosette with a few foam pads so that it was easy to remove without damaging the paper underneath.

At first I thought this card was a little dark for a small boys card but have to admit it looked quite stunning from a distance on a shelf. The main thing is he liked it and he liked his badge with his name on as their isn't much with his name on.

Anyway am off to play

Until next time.

Take care
