Housemouse decoupage card

Ok so this is a late post as I was waiting on the rosette to dry and to be honest it took me such a long time to cut out the decoupage by hand I was nearly late for work lol. But as they say better late than never...so here it is finished.

I used a 6 x 6 card square for this card I used some gold mirri and some distressed green stripes from a dcwv pad as the base. I followed the sketch from the willow sketchie challenge (http://willowsketchiechallenge.blogspot.com)with the elements making the card. I used pink and green coredinations for the oval shapes, I embossed the green oval with a cuttlebug folder and sanded and matted onto the pink. I added a strip of paper from the my minds eye lost and found paper pack (which is lush, so many glitter papers, was almost painful to use, I like it so much!) Matted and layered the housemouse decoupage (from Joanna Sheen) onto gold mirri and then pink glitter and then used the same pink glitter paper to make the rosette which was topped off with a greeting. I then added two green flowers to the strip of patterned paper and added two large round green gems for a bit of bling.

I do like this card but the amount of time it took to cut out the decoupage would put me off recreating it. That said sometimes the ones that take the most time are the better ones and this is one I would happily give to a close friend..... well as long as they liked meeces lol.

Till next time

Take care

  1. Such a pretty card, gorgeous colours and House Mouse is my favourite even though it can be a bit of a fiddle to cut out sometimes.
