Christmas Peppers Xmas Party card

Ok so its been a week or so since my last blog, have had the craziest week at work as a couple of peeps were on hols and then a couple went sick, you all know how it goes and then the nec hobbycraft is coming up soon and I am really hoping to go as I missed out a couple of times due to lack of funds. Once you have been to the shows you really feel bad about not being able to go because you know what you are missing out on..... so any extra funds will come in handy.

Anyway moving on I know I promised not to make a square card and to be truthful the last thing I made was a lovely little ribbon book/frame card with a piece of patterned paper I made myself from scratch for a christening which was quite lovely, but I was finishing it right up to the minute my sister was leaving and so never got chance to take a photo. My sister did say she had taken some photo's so it may appear on here at some point. It wasn't perfect I should have left a little more room in the spine so it closed easier but it was nice..... but its not nice to tease you with things you may not see so today's offering is another xmas card ( I told you I have lots to make this year) for the willow sketchie challenge.

This is an 8" square card, No surprise there I hear you say but it is a little different in that it is a pearlised one bought from craft creations and not a blank made from scratch. I matted and layered with gold mirri, and then some red tree paper from the papermania festive frolics paper pack. I then matted and layered gold again with the green xmas coredinations with the lovely little tree design on which I had sanded to reveal the lovely light green trees.... still loving coredinations. The topper was a piece of white pearlised card lightly inked around the edges with shabby shutter distress ink and the Peppers xmas party decoupage with the cute little miskies decorating their little tree.

I cut some lovely holly sprigs from the coredination glittery card in green with a lovely memory box die. (the first intricate die I have had which did not leave the die cut stuck inside the die. Plus their dies come in nice envelopes which I think I may use as a storage idea over all the dies) and added them to the topper. Then as a finishing touch to complete this card from the sketch challenge I used some ribbon I got from create & craft some time ago matted onto red glittery coredination. I cut the card at an angle to simulate the tree shape which was in the cardstock and decorative paper.

Not sure about this card yet it has been stood here by me for a little while and its pretty enough but needs something. Maybe I will have a tweak later.

Anyway enough of my blathering for now....until next time..

Take care
