Lady Victoria Kennyk steampunk? card
Ok blogpeeps I have to admit I really am not all that sure what steampunk is lol, seems to be quite industrial and distressed in style from cards and projects I have seen so in essence this is my take on it, I could be quite off the base with it but at the end of the day most of the people who make cards have to like them themselves and this one is ok by me.
The image is Lady Victoria from KennyK downloads and this photo is not the best to show how she was coloured in by the spectrum pens. She is also has a second layer to add a little distance between her and her cloak. She also has a little glitter on her goggles and staff.
The background is made up of gold card, coredinations dark blue card and a random pink patterned paper from stash. I had a cog mask which I think you can use with sprays and things too but I put it through the big shot with pearlised card from crafters companion and then using the mask coloured the outside of the mask with stormy sky distress ink. I had some Tim Holtz cog sizzix dies which I used to cut the coredination glitter silk card and applied the cogs with collall glue gel to raise them and trimmed them to the edge of the mat when they were dryish.
Lady V was then arranged on the front with a ribbon, bow and greeting from stash.
Not sure if this is a card that I would buy in a shop although I do like it a lot, but in terms of the amount of different techniques and the theme it has been a very interesting and enjoyable project. Has been a lovely day off from work and as the weather is not great... totally guilt free about sitting and doing what I love to do.... Craft! yay!
Till next time

Xmas but not xmassy Humphrey Decoupage Card
Hello again blogland
This time another image from the Humphrey Xmas Decoupage, which I thought did not have to be xmassy at all, a lovely image for a mum or grandma I think so I decided to go along those lines with it.
I picked up the orange and blue from the image and mat and layered in gold and blue to begin. I then used a spellbinders flourish to make the corners and looked about for random flowers, as I could only find two I liked but only had two of each I had to offset them on opposite corners. I found the small orange ones with rounded corners in a pack I have had a while but the daisy ones had to be coloured with the spectrum pens. Gems and card candi to decorate the centres and the addition of a simple love sentiment framed this Humphrey decoupage nicely. Cardstock used was a DCWV glitter card (pale blue) and my favourite card at the moment coredinations.
Wasn't quite sure about the blue and orange to begin with but as it stands on my shelf at the moment it looks quite pretty and it's growing on me!
Day off tomorrow so a play with some stamping or I have some digi images begging to be played with too with some steampunk bits n pieces ...... too many decisions lol
So you will have to wait until tomorrow to see what's in this space.... dum dum dum (dramatic music!)
Until then

Xmas Humphrey diecut decoupage card
Ok so I know this is a pretty simple card, but I seem to get lost on the smaller cards and this one is a teeny tiny 5" square.
The background is red and green coredinations embossed with a sizzix plate with words that say winter wishes snowman kisses. I embossed two the same size and then cut diagonally in half and I sanded the design a little to make the words show up better before adding the topper to a lighter green layer.
Humphrey was then decoupaged using all the layers and I sprayed the cobweb diecut with some spray and sparkle which I wish had been silver instead of gold, I think it would have looked a little more icy if it had been silver. A greeting from a Kanban kit, (before everyone starts booing and hissing,) I bought the kit long before the recent troubles and it looked nice. I covered it in glossy accents to give it a bit of dimension. I then added the green ribbon for a bit of interest on the side.
There you have it.... a very simple, small but nice xmas card. This one will end up in the work colleague box for sure so one down loads to go lol
Till next time

VivkiLeeVicious KennyK Image card
Hello all, a different card shape for me today - inspired by Leann Chivers from Crafter's companion (demonstrating Humphrey cards on C&C a few days ago) the measurements are different but the concept came from Leann's demo. I may have mentioned in my previous blog that after I coloured Bodacious Bev I liked Kenny K designs and have bought a few.... this is one of them VickiLee Vicious. I have coloured her in using the spectrum noirs and am super happy with her. I glossed her guitar using the sakura glaze pen and added a couple of tiny green diamantes instead of colouring the buttons. Fancied making a green card so coloured her with lots of the lovely green shades in the pens. Found a brick wall embossing folder from the box (not sure where its from) and embossed some coredinations card and sanded too.
The pink/purple torn paper came from one of the digikits with my serif craft artist and I tore it to shape and inked the edges with distress ink (dusty concord) The green base paper came from the same digikit. The Rosettes were made from a Tim Holtz/sizzix die and a green gem added to each. (apologies for one being a little off centre, it slipped and I hadn't noticed until the glue dried.... doh)
The gold glitter lettering came from hobbycraft ..diva shimmer alpha stickers and stick really well.
The colouring on VickiLee is probably one of the best I have done so far and I feel I am getting better with the speccies but for some reason I find some colours work better for me than others.... I don't know why, maybe I am just more intune with certain colours. Anyway the Humphrey decoupage arrived yesterday so I have lots more to play with.
Until next time

Kenny K - Bodacious Bev Image card
Ok so first the apologies for a break in my blog, but work had been mixing my hours up and some days I am in really early and some days in late which has taken a bit of getting used to. Had picked up complete cardmaking magazine (with the free cd) and was playing with this Kenny K bodacious Bev image which I have to say I love as it is totally different from what I usually play with. Coloured her in with the spectrum noirs, had a bit of a disaster with my glossy accents making the red boots look orange as I just felt they were screaming to look like they were pvc managed in the end with a sakura gel pen which didn't give the raised effect I wanted but I got all of the shine. Leann from crafters companion suggested I use spray and shine and I need to get some and give it a go.
Also used a Go Kreate nested shape for the black velvet paper (doodlebug I think) and some red holographic hearts and then a grand nestie for the large white glitter coredination background. The embossed black swirl card came from create and craft some time ago I don't think they do it anymore though.
This card as usual needs a sentiment and will be added later. All in all I really do like this card but this probably has to do with the image which I truly did like so much I bought some of her friends so they may make an appearance here at some point until then...

Another JS Enchanted Dreams Card
Well my sister came by yesterday and saw the card I made also from this cd and loved it so I didn't bother to make her another. One of my colleagues is leaving work this week and I thought this picture of the dandelion seeds being scattered appropriate as she is not leaving the company just leaving our branch and am hoping she will be taking lots of good wishes with her a lot like the seeds in this picture.
Well I hunted high and low yesterday for my pot of hunky dory diamond sparkles to put on yesterdays card and couldn't find it so had settled for the sakura glitter pen. I found the sparkles today.. the dog had nicked them and tried to chew the lid off... glitter envy maybe or boredom one or the other lol. Anyway today I used both on this card. No layers just a straight topper taken to Craft artist to get the size I wanted. I also used craft artist to make the picture translucent and added a verse to make an insert too. The paper and topper came from Joanna Sheen Enchanted Dreams cd and ribbon and gold card from stash.
Am quite pleased with this card. It is nice and sparkly and the magicality of the picture comes across well with the glitter/glitter pen :)
Anyway take care

Enchanted Dreams Cd Birthday Card
Ok so I have been trying to sort out my storage issue, a huge pile of allsorts means I know what I need but can never find it and then end up getting very frustrated and settling for something else which is not what I want. Am getting there slowly but hopefully over the next month things will be sorted into some kind of system which means I can locate what I need quickly.
Enough of my crafty problems though... the birthday card today is for a friend of my sister, I have never met her and have no idea what she is into so I generally try to make two different types of card so my sister can choose which she likes most and goes away happy lol.
This image is on the Joanna Sheen enchanted dream cd, I may have mentioned how much I love JS cd's earlier in the blog. Too many wonderful images to choose from but settled on this one and took it to my craft artist program using the snapshot tool so this is a big A4 card with 2 layers so it looks like she is actually coming out of the fantasy world. Love these images as they are pictures within pictures and every time you look you see something else.
Used a sakura glitter gel pen to accentuate folds in the dress and the lights which may not show up in the picture above but when the light hits them they are quite lovely and bring out the magic in this picture. A little gold mirri to matt and layer with some glitter paper where the glitter is encapsulated (think this may have come from the glitter girls) and the background paper came from another JS cd the precious petals one. A white ribbon coloured with Spectrum pens and a greeting with a few odd flowers means this card just needs a nice insert and its finished.
All in all a pretty card and am quite happy with it... just have to think of something completely different for her to choose between now :)
Anyway for now take care

New Gorjuss stamp with torn paper card
So I missed two days of blogging :( had to work different hours and just too been too tired to do anything, still really not found the mojo but had time to play a little today.
Todays offering is not fantastic, I am still finding my way around colouring with the spectrum noirs sometimes I get what I think is a great result - sometimes not so much... today is a not so much but I know the more I play the better it will get. This card still needs something so is not quite right but it will have to do for now. Probably won't get time to do much tomorrow as am working again. Will be able to buy another grand nestie when I get paid... its really the only reason I do the overtime.
Anyway for this card I used a martha stewart punch for the large flower shapes, some coredinations paper and a fiskars tearing ruler, a Gorjuss stamp (flying above it all) and of course speccies for colouring. Gold card & background paper from stash.

Small dog thank you card with cuttlebug daisy decoration
So today I was sat here messing around for quite some time - a case of the missing crafting mojo methinks. Came up with this one for today which is not going to be one of my favourites, but I think since this is, more or less, a daily blog at the moment I will put whatever I have created whether I think its finished/needs something, or great or not so great. I would welcome any comments or suggestions because although I have been crafting cards for about 3 years now I am still very much a novice.
This one was made using spellbinder grand calibur dies, some cuttlebug daisy quilled flowers, some reddy decoupage from crafters companion, coredinations (of course) and a little ribbon and gems.
Anyhow really need to get ready for work and look for my mojo lol

Small doggy Easel card with pearls
So back to work again ... sighs... but have been playing for a while, the crafting mojo seems to be off a little and I have started and abandoned a few things today came up with this small easel sorry card which is quite nice but needs something but haven't got any more time to play today.
The sticker came from a sheet of blue nose doggies from the glitter pot (i think) the pearls are prima. The blue card is coredinations and black and white glitter/foil card from stash. Didn't have a sorry stamp I liked so printed this sentiment out from serif craft artist onto neenah card. Oh and of course the image was layered onto spellbinder shapes.
Anyway off to get ready got some ironing to do first :(
Happy Crafting

LOTV Baby coloured with spectrum pens and embossed decoration
Ok so I didn't get as much time to play today as I had to take the nephews out for the day but as soon as I got back managed to have a quick play with this lovely Lily of the Valley stamp and the spectrum pens. To be honest I had a couple of plays with the pens and it had taken me such a long time to get the hang of the promarkers I wasn't getting the results from the spectrums I wanted as I was trying to use them like promarkers. So the rest of the pens I had ordered from Crafter's companion arrived today and I printed out the guide sheet and coloured in the ones I now have and caught a couple of Leanne's shows over the weekend. What a difference this made, I am so pleased with this little girl's colouring, I have to be honest in that I used the colouring guide that came with the stamp for the light and shade but apart from that all my own work lol. Wish I had the spectrums before the promarkers to be honest, and am now anxious to colour more.
Also got some new embossing folders today the new cuttlebug ones and had a little play, the embossing is really deep on it, and the coredinations works well with it. So more playing there to be had I think to see what they can really do for me.
Used some stash for the card itself some pink and purple coredinations with a little of the glitter coredinations for the matting and layering too. The polka ribbon was pink but I coloured it to a light purple to tone in.
All in all.... am super happy with this card..... just need somebody to have a baby girl so I can give it to them lol.
Anyway tis late and the dogs want walking so I had better get on with it.
Take care
